International Beauty Show New York Delivers Passionate and Savvy Beauty Professionals
More than 53,700 beauty professionals in attendance; up from previous year
NEW YORK, NY – March 22, 2010 — The International Beauty Show New York, presented by American Salon magazine, was a resounding success and drew almost 54,000 passionate and energetic participants looking to advance their skills, see the latest and greatest in beauty and mingle with some of the top talent in the industry. IBS New York, once again, proved that the beauty industry is vibrant and strong.
Energy Abounds
“We are overjoyed with the turnout, energy and overall vibe experienced at IBS New York this year,” says Dana Lupton, vice president and group show director. “Our strong attendance led to record sales for many exhibitors and we experienced one of the most successful rebooking sessions for our 2011 dates. I am proud of the show we produced and wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to the industry for its participation and strong support.”
The Exhibits
“I’ve never seen it so busy,” said both exhibitors and attendees. Beauty professionals came to the show in droves and spent their time and money on new products as well as old favorites. The Pibbs family was well represented on the show floor with large displays from Pibbs, Turbo Power, and La Brasiliana. Alfa Parf, Moroccanoil, Global Keratin, So Cap USA, Metropolis and Macadamia Natural Oil, A Robert Cromeans Salon, and Young Nails also had significant presence on the show floor. Traffic frequently stopped in aisles where smaller exhibitors demonstrated their products and fulfilled a high level of sales. In all, more than 550 haircare, nailcare, cosmetics, tools, furniture, apparel and business technology manufacturers were represented.
Trends & More
Extensions are still all the rage and offer professionals an opportunity to increase business and generate thousands of dollars in incremental revenue. Also popular and crowd-generating were the moisture-enhancing hair follicle products, natural hair-straightening products and the colorful gels and polishes in fabulous color arrays.
Inspiring Main Stage
Some of the most dynamic names in the beauty biz graced the 2010 IBS New York Main Stage. Artistic cutting, dramatic coloring and creative styling with step-by-step demonstrations were provided by world-renowned and iconic artists, including Nick Arrojo, Robert Cromeans, Martin Parsons, Vivienne Mackinder, Dee Adames, Woody Michleb and Bradgraham.
